About

Meet Aurora Bowhunter.

A senior literary agent with nearly two decades inside traditional publishing — first as an editor, now as an advocate for the authors I have the privilege to represent.

Portrait of Aurora Bowhunter

I came to agenting the long way around — through years as an editor, learning how books are actually made and how publishers actually decide.

That experience shapes everything about how I represent authors today. I read each project closely, work with writers on structural and line-level revision before submission, and pitch with a clear, considered point of view about where a book belongs and why.

My list spans literary and commercial fiction, narrative nonfiction, memoir, and big-idea books. The connecting thread is voice — a writer with something only they could say, said with craft and intention.

Beyond representation, I care about the long arc of an author's career. I help writers think about their second book before the first is published, about platform without performance, and about pacing a working life in books.

Mission

Why I do this work

To represent writers whose work matters — to readers, to culture, to the conversation — and to make the path from manuscript to publication clear, fair, and as kind as it can reasonably be.

That mission shapes every choice on this desk: the projects I take on, the editors I approach, the contracts I negotiate, and the way I show up for the authors I represent.
