Representation

Literary representation, considered and clear.

A working list of what I actively seek, what I respectfully decline, and the standards I bring to every author I represent.

Category One

  • Commercial Fiction
  • Historical Fiction
  • Thriller
  • Mystery
  • Women's Fiction
  • Contemporary Fiction
  • Science Fiction
  • Fantasy
  • Young Adult

  • Biography

  • Business
  • Leadership
  • Self-Development
  • Current Affairs
  • Popular Science
  • Culture
  • Narrative Nonfiction

What I look for

Voice, intention, and craft

  • A distinct voice on the first page
  • A clear sense of who the book is for
  • Structural confidence and pacing control
  • A premise the writer alone could deliver
  • Authors thinking past a single book
  • Manuscripts that have been seriously revised

Common reasons projects are declined

Honest, not personal

  • Concept is familiar; angle isn't fresh
  • Opening pages prioritise plot over voice
  • Market position isn't yet defined
  • Manuscript needs a structural pass before submission
  • Not the right fit for my list at this moment
  • Outside the categories I actively represent

Marketability Factors

A one-sentence hook that survives the boardroom.

Audio, translation, film — sources of long-term value.

Publishing Readiness

A checklist before you submit.

A short, honest gut-check. If you can answer yes to most of these, you're likely ready for serious agent consideration.

  1. 01Full manuscript is complete (fiction) or proposal is full (nonfiction).
  2. 02Manuscript has been revised at least twice, ideally with outside readers.
  3. 03Query letter clearly states genre, word count, and the hook.
  4. 04Synopsis covers the full arc, including the ending.
  5. 05Author bio explains why you are the writer for this book.
  6. 06Sample pages have been edited line by line.
  7. 07You can name three to five recent comparable titles.

Sound like the right fit?
